Holocaust Remembrance Week

Nancy Smith - Wednesday, April 15, 2015

Each year several nations acknowledge the horrific events that occurred during the Holocaust by having a Remembrance Week. It is usually the Sunday before the Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah) through the following Sunday, occurring this year between April 12-19th. State and local governments, military bases, workplaces, schools, religious organizations, and civic centers host observances and remembrance activities for their communities.

If you are interested in finding out more information about what occurred during the Holocaust and what the Jewish community had to overcome, check out the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C. This museum is the United States' official memorial to the Holocaust.
