Each year several nations acknowledge the horrific events that occurred during the Holocaust by having a Remembrance Week. It is usually the Sunday before the Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah) through the following Sunday, occurring this year between April 12-19th. State and local governments, military bases, workplaces, schools, religious organizations, and civic centers host observances and remembrance activities for their communities.
